I had moved to Seattle with my kids after a difficult 18-year marriage ended. I was a single mother with three children, overwhelmed and depressed. My friend suggested I come with him to a yoga class. After that first class, my life was never the same. That was in 1992, and now I am a certified 500-hour yoga and meditation teacher...and a woman bearing almost no resemblance to the one who started yoga so long ago. In 1999, I began studying meditation with Anam Thubten Rinpoche and have since been ordained to teach meditation. I feel an ever increasing sense of balance, both emotionally and physically. I have a steady, strong sense of energy. I feel happy to be alive. I’ve been led back to my own body, my own life, in ways I couldn’t have imagined.
Whether teaching yoga or meditation, I’m especially good at teaching absolute beginners; and although I truly enjoy the group classes I teach, my great love is teaching one on one—where there’s the luxury to address individual issues, and tailor each moment to the needs at hand. The progress you can make in this way is amazing.
So come home to your body. Everything you need for a peaceful life is right there.
I respond to everything I receive here (usually within 24 hours, if not sooner), so talk to me. I'm listening.
